During her Applied Net 2024 session, Amanda Crawford, director of operations at Compass Insurance, shared tips on how to use EZLynx to measure key indicators of your agency’s health. Read more and discover answers to common questions EZLynx users may have about reporting.
1. How can EZLynx reports help manage my agency’s health?
Agency health can be measured in several ways, but four of the key indicators covered in the session were financial growth and stability, client retention and satisfaction, employee retention and satisfaction and operational efficiency.
The wide variety of available EZLynx reports and the ability to customize each one based on specific filters allows you to easily compare current performance to your agency metrics. It also gives you the opportunity to review and adjust those metrics as necessary.
2. How frequently should I look at reports?
A lot of this depends on the type of report you’re pulling. At the agency I work for, I have found this set-up to be the most helpful:
Weekly – Activity (by department): This is sent to each department so that managers can gauge workload distribution and individual contribution, and employees can see their contribution to the team.
Monthly – Activity (by department): Transaction – new business, rewrite, cancellation; renewal detail (if you have retention center); sales performance dashboard (if you have sales center).
Quarterly – Book of business dashboard (for individual producers).
3. What are performance goals?
Performance goals is a tool that provides visual, real-time feedback for everyone involved with that goal. As the administrator, you’re able to see all goals that you’ve set (whereas those without admin access will only see goals that have been set for them).
You can use performance goals to push a certain type of coverage (e.g., maybe you feel like there needs to be a push on cyber sales), provide more business for a particular carrier (if a carrier is asking for more business), help motivate and reward new producers and measure success for current producers with sales targets and/or bonus tiers.
4. What is the difference between dashboards and looks?
Dashboards offer an overview of the data and include various charts that are customizable.
Looks offer a tabular view of the data which can be exported to a spreadsheet where you’re able to analyze everything in more detail.
5. If I'm new to reporting, where’s the best place to start?
The Pulse report offers a thorough, detailed overview of your agency’s performance from the past month. It gives you thorough feedback through simple tables and graphs, allowing you to see the bigger picture and adjust accordingly. Retention, customer demographics, agency trends and more are included. If you don’t currently have access to the Pulse report, please contact your EZLynx sales consultant to subscribe.
