In 2024, ACN launched the Member Alliance Program — a fresh and improved opportunity for all ACN members to connect, learn and grow together. The program features seven unique, persona-based alliances, each designed to provide a supportive community, tailored education and professional development opportunities. ACN connected with Member Alliance Leader and ACN volunteer, Cally Lever, who shares her excitement about the program and offers insight into the benefits of joining an Alliance.
ACN: What is your favorite thing about volunteering for ACN?
Cally Lever (CL): The best part about volunteering for ACN is the opportunity to build meaningful connections with other insurance professionals. Sharing industry insights and best practices with like-minded individuals in similar roles fosters both personal and professional growth. This collaboration allows us to support one another in navigating industry challenges and celebrating successes, creating a strong sense of community within the network.
ACN: What are some of the top benefits of attending Alliance meetings?
(CL): Alliance meetings provide valuable opportunities to exchange industry knowledge and network with peers at various experience levels. These meetings create a collaborative environment where members can openly discuss successes, challenges and innovative solutions. Engaging with others who understand the complexities of the insurance industry is invaluable for professional development and staying informed about market trends, new technology and operational strategies.
ACN: What has been the most interesting topic that has come up in an Alliance meeting?
(CL): Artificial intelligence (AI) has been the most captivating topic discussed in Alliance meetings. Its rapid evolution and integration into the insurance industry present both exciting opportunities and challenges. Sharing how different agencies utilize AI and the impact it has on operations, efficiency and client services has sparked insightful conversations. This ongoing dialogue enables members to explore innovative ways to adapt and stay competitive in the industry.
ACN: What have you learned by being an Alliance leader?
(CL): Serving as an Alliance leader has shown me that continuous learning and knowledge sharing are essential at every stage of leadership, even at the owner/principal level. Collaborating with diverse agency leaders has highlighted various approaches to common challenges and business operations. This experience has reinforced the importance of leveraging collective knowledge to drive growth, improve processes, and enhance overall organizational success.
ACN: What goals do you have for your Alliance in 2025?
(CL): A primary goal for our Alliance in 2025 is to curate a diverse range of topics that resonate with agencies of all sizes, ages and tenure. I aim to foster engaging discussions that address current industry challenges, emerging trends and innovative solutions. Encouraging broad participation and inclusivity will ensure that meetings remain valuable and impactful for every member, ultimately strengthening our collective success.
ACN: What advice can you give to ACN members who are unsure about joining an Alliance or attending the meetings?
(CL): I encourage any ACN member who is hesitant about joining an Alliance or attending meetings to give it a try. The insights and support gained from networking with industry peers are incredibly valuable. Engaging in open discussions about challenges and successes can offer fresh perspectives and practical solutions. There is so much to gain from participating, and it can significantly enhance both personal and professional development.
