I saw a news headline the other day that really hit home for me. This year, the United States experienced 24 weather and climate disasters, each causing over $1 billion in losses. Most of those losses, thankfully, are covered by insurance. Members of ACN need no reminder the value of good insurance coverage, but it got me reflecting: When disaster strikes, after the first responders have left, the unsung heroes are insurance agents who help people rebuild their lives.
As insurance agents, you provide the expertise and guidance that people like myself need to navigate this sometimes complex world, ensuring we have the right coverage for our unique needs. Plus, agents have been at it a very long time, with the insurance industry dating back thousands of years!
Like those in any industry, ACN members are facing increased competition and cost pressures. ACN creates the conditions for insurance agents to thrive. I’m honored to be part of this mission alongside our dedicated volunteers. Key successes in 2024 include creation of our Alliance communities of interest and education centered on personas integral to the industry. Additionally, our mobile app available on Apple and Google Play is allowing members to access benefits at their fingertips. These efforts are driving greater collaboration and connection, making for a stronger industry. At the end of the day, this means more people have the insurance they need to go on with their lives when disaster strikes.
So where does this lead in 2025? To drive further collaborative opportunities, ACN is pleased to introduce our Summits Series, with the first being held in Dallas Feb. 11–12. This two-day, high-impact event combines cutting-edge expertise in AI, cybersecurity, robotic process automation (RPA) and other transformative technologies with hands-on workshops, peer-led discussions and premium networking opportunities.
I encourage you to register for a Summit and get excited about additional offerings coming in 2025 — but after this year of momentum in 2024, take a moment to get reacquainted with ACN. We’ve built some great new offerings together that all members should take advantage of. And if you love it, share it with a friend or colleague.
Happy Holidays,
Brian Langerman
