Within a growing technology market, concerns are present as to whether automation might yield job loss for staff at agencies or brokerages. Experts at Applied Net 2018, however, believe that the constant development of technology will aid new job creation over time. Sharon Emek, former managing director at New York's CBS Coverage Group, Inc., shared, "Automation does not mean fewer jobs, it means better jobs." As consumers and professionals have seen over time, technology developments often lead to positive change, and the insurance market is no exception. Emek argued that despite the effect automated technology might have, insurers and brokers will still be required to do many tasks, such as people management and decision making based on the automated data, among others.
