Applied Client Network Boosts Peer-to-peer Learning at Applied Net
Refreshes Education Approach Based on Member Demand & Learning Trends
CHICAGO (September 8, 2016)—Applied Client Network, the global technology community of Applied Systems users, is boosting its use of peer-to-peer learning at the upcoming Applied Net conference being held Sept. 19-22, 2016, in Orlando.
“To align with where insurance technology users are heading, we are expanding peer-to-peer, interactive learning opportunities starting with Applied Net,” commented Alan Harkabus of A.B. Gile Insurance Agency in West Lebanon, N.H., the 2016 chair of Applied Client Network.
The education and training approach was built from the ground up by users for users, and was designed to provide the latest trends and delivery of adult learning opportunities to meet the unique needs of the Applied Client Network community. Applied Client Network’s updated approach to education was based on a 2016 member needs assessment, feedback from participants about prior education events, and insights in adult learning, explained Julie Ferry, education director.
With a theme of “connecting the business of insurance,” Applied Net 2016 is an education and networking event focusing on insurance technology and is the largest gathering of Applied Systems users. With an expected attendance of more than 3,000 insurance and technology professionals, Applied Net offers education that can be tailored for each attendee based on their individual learning objectives.
Applied Net offers more than 200 sessions along 10 distinct tracks: Applied TAM, Applied Epic, principal and management, the cloud, system administration and information technology, “Your Management System and Microsoft,” data analytics, mobility, connecting with customers, carrier-agency interface, and Canada market.
The number of user presenters has more than doubled from 2015’s event, said Ferry. Applied Client Network’s board and education committee emphasized peer-to-peer sessions as a response to member demands. Many user-led sessions will feature expert users sharing their stories of how they deploy tech tools to optimize efficiency and profitability. Other sessions will include case studies, roundtables, and peer spotlights that open up interaction through questions and answers.
“Through the education tracks at Applied Net, insurance tech users can explore a challenge they are currently facing, pick up on a topic on which they need to learn and advance, or push the boundaries of learning by earning master certification on a topic,” said Harkabus. “We want all of the education resources we’re putting forth to be in sync with Applied Client Network’s mission of facilitating ‘users helping users.’”
Applied Systems experts will demonstrate the firm’s products. Applied Net includes a “bring your own device” lab, as well as workstations set up for attendees to test reporting and other tools from Applied Systems. Further, the event includes Applied Net Exchange, a forum for attendees to see tools from more than 75 providers of complementary technology solutions.
Applied Net offers preconference opportunities for earning continuing education credits in cyber liability; employment-related practices, exposures and coverages; and insurance ethics.
