Applied Indio and Applied Epic offer myriad backend solutions for insurance professionals when it comes to quoting. The technological capabilities within both systems makes for seamless operations, thus improving the way in which agencies can serve customers. Read on for an in-depth look at Indio and Epic from a pro user perspective.
Applied Indio
Our agency has been using Indio for several years. When we first looked at the product, we thought it would be the gateway to electronic documentation exchange between our Account Representatives and their clients; we were not wrong. We started using the product as a method of gathering documents for clients to compete so that we may quote and process renewals. We have now evolved the usage to include a full new business marketing tool as well as an e-signature solution.
COVID-19 forced us to work from home for over two years and forced our agency users and clients to adapt to using electronic document transfer as a normal way of doing business. Indio provided the avenue to be able to integrate with Epic and transmit applications, proposals, schedules and spreadsheets to our clients for them to review, sign and electronically return to us and feed directly back into our agency management system.
Indio has streamlined the process of getting correct information to our agency from our insureds because it allows us to direct the clients to the questions we need answered as well as providing them with previously completed applications for their review while continuously monitoring the process of completion. The days of highlighting applications so that the insured will know what we need answered are long gone as are the days of highlighting applications and constant emails and phone calls back and forth to the client looking for additional information. This makes the agency look more professional and saves our users and the clients a great deal of frustration.
Indio was originally marketed as a solution for Commercial Lines given the large amount of remarketing and paperwork involved. While Indio is a great product for Commercial Lines, we found it to be integral with Personal Lines as well. E-signature is fast and easy, and with the vast library of carrier forms/applications already saved within Indio it’s simple to send them to clients for completion. This cuts down on costs as you won’t need to have a separate e-signature vendor, and helps streamline workflows leading to better efficiency.
With single sign-on the route from Epic to Indio gets even shorter, and makes using the product easier for both the Account Representative as well as the client. This is a win-win for everyone, and will help set your agency apart from the competition.
Applied Epic Quotes for Personal Lines
When Applied Systems first announced the launch of Epic Quotes for Personal lines my agency jumped on the opportunity to take a demo and then, subsequently, initiate use of the product. The notions that we could obtain five quotes for personal lines insurance within five minutes made this product a must have for us.
We use Epic Quotes for Personal Lines multiple times a day to remarket current in force policies and market new business as well.
In regards to remarketing current policies, the product is fully integrated with Epic which allows us to seamlessly transfer data from our agency management system directly into the carrier website and receive quick and accurate quotes from the carriers. Configuration capabilities of the software allows our users to enter their carrier website credentials into Epic which makes accessing the carrier websites a possibility. There is no re-keying of data from our system into a carrier website, which saves a lot of time for our users. Once the quote is reviewed and is accepted, we can then go from the quote into the carrier website to bind the coverage. We can then direct Epic to create lines of business based on the quote and have the policy detail downloaded the next day.
As respect to new business, the artificial intelligence built into this product allows us to tie in Lexis Nexis capabilities so that we can gather publicly available information necessary to provide a quick indication on new business by only entering a shell of a client into Epic with the potential insureds address and phone number. The Lexis Nexis add on piece to Epic Quotes for personal lines will then go out to gather public motor vehicle, property and tax information, which will then feed directly into a carrier website to give us quote indications that we can fine tune if the quote is competitive.
What this allows us to do is to look at potential new client’s current policy and premium and find out fi we can be competitive within 10 minutes. If we find that we can be competitive then we can gather further information from the insured to fine tune our quotes. If we find we can’t be competitive, we can inform the potential client within minutes and save our agency users time before they go into each of the carrier’s websites and add additional information.
The seamless transfer of data from Epic to carrier websites and back makes this product worth its weight in gold!
